TRIP DESCRIPTION
This trip is an add-on for people visiting the Hartbeespoort Cableway and who are wondering what else to do (or how to keep the youngsters busy) once they're on top, or those who are looking for a really adventurous day out.
Our climb is unique as far as guided adventure climbs in the north of the country are concerned. After you have caught your cable car to the top of the mountain (costs not included) and we have issued you with the required equipment we walk down a gully to the base of the cliffs. There you will be tied in to the ropes and the guide will climb the first rope length (or 'pitch') of the climb and establish an anchor. You will then climb up to the guide, protected by a rope and once you reach the anchors you will be connected to them. The guide will then climb to the top oc the cliff you will reeat the process.
The maximum size for any one party is 4 members - the ledge is too small to hold more.
The route has been carefully chosen to give the general publc the best chance of success, so don't worry about your climbing skill - most people of moderate fitness will make it.
We will provide all technical equipment, which includes:
Costs do not include the Cableway ticket to the top.
This is a GREAT trip for those who find
themselves in or near Gauteng (Johannesburg / Pretoria) or staying at
Sun City and have a day to spare. If you've planned your holiday and
find that you have one day to spare then consider this as a time-filler.
